This past weekend, the .Net Rocks crew came to Austin on the national road trip. It was a great time.
On Friday, there were lots of folks at the Xamarin/.Net Rocks all-afternoon event. Richard Campbell told some of his famous storytelling, and Carl got the audience loud and rowdy for the show recording.
Later that night, the road trip folks came over to my house and we tackled this big hunk of pure rib-eye
I cut this up into 1” steaks, a little seasoning, and served it medium rare. It turned out really good with some Rebecca Creek Texas whiskey.
Here’s the crew that tackled this hunk of steak.
Ok, there were a few sides, but those aren’t as interesting.
Then, on Saturday, we had a Humanitarian Toolbox hackathon hosted at the Clear Measure offices. We supported a non-profit called Humanity Road and helped them publish information for disaster recovery first responders across the country. It was a big data processing task, and we wrote some code to get all the data into markdown format to publish on the wiki.

It as a great weekend overall, and everyone had a great time. Thanks, .Net Rocks and Xamarin, and Humanitarian Toolbox for coming to town.
