Department of Justice acting on web accessibility

In mid-2008, we began hitting web accessibility in a meaningful way.  One of our projects was a law enforcement systems for some local government entities, and the requirement was there.  We have used tools such as the WAVE toolbar for Firefox as well as developed our own tool for testing accessibility compliance for ASP.NET called NAAK:  .Net Accessibility Analysis Kit.  It’s free and open source.  Go use it.

The US Department of Justice is planning some regulations around web accessibility, and it is quickly becoming a real requirement for web development.  Individual programmers ought to be educated in this, but it is more important for company executives to know this is going on.

Please go read about it here.
